Janet was standing there with a full plate of breakfast. Felina smiled inside. Is this what having friends was like? Better yet, is this how it feels to have a sister?

Felina answered the door and invited Janet in.

Both girls sat down at the kitchen table, and Felina insisted they divide the food up. She didn’t feel right eating in front of Janet, no matter how hard Janet pleaded she wasn’t hungry.

Janet instantly scarfed her food down, like a starving wolf child lost in the woods.

“Hey, Felina. I’m so glad you’re staying with us for the holidays. Now, I’ll have someone other than Jason to hang with. My mom isn’t around much, and I understand but, I get lonely sometimes. What school do you go to?” Asked Janet.

“Oh, I don’t go to school. I took my GED a year ago, and I take a few classes online with the local community college.” Felina was proud of this information and happy to share it.

“Wow, you’ve got to be kidding me. I wish I could do that. Then, I could travel Europe, and see what the rest of the world is like.”
